Celiac and Menopause

Untreated Celiac Disease

Here is the scenario.  You have not felt well for years.   You have either not gone to the doctor about it or perhaps been misdiagnosed by your physician as to the underlying cause.

Perhaps you have gas, bloating, intestinal issues, skin problems, ulcers in your mouth, swelling and/or fatigue.  The list goes on and on.

All of these symptoms can be celiac disease.

New findings were just released this month stating that women who are not treated for celiac disease are more likely to go through menopause a few years earlier.  On average women who suffered from the disease stopped getting their cycle between the ages of 47-48 years of age instead of  50-51 years of age.

Women suffering from undiagnosed celiac also suffered  more perimenopausal symptoms and a  higher risk of miscarriages.

As Tina Turbin stated from glutenfreehelp.info, 1 in every 133 people are suspected to having gluten issues.  She has a great tip sheet on her website telling what tests to request.

Big Pharma Rep Spills the Beans – Are These Hurting Your Family?

Category : Uncategorized

Expert’s Name:  Gail Edgell

I think you are all aware that I am not a fan of the pharmaceutical companies.  I have said for a long time, I feel that are not working in our best interest, but their best interest.

Someone sent this You Tube video to me of Gwen Oslsen, an ex. pharmaceutical rep. for many of the top companies.  She is factual and to the point.

Yes, there is a place and time for prescription medications, but in most cases big pharma is just cashing in our individuals who are on “maintenance drugs” for life.

It saddens me that I did not learn this earlier in life to help my own parents who are definitely in the downward spiral of prescription drug hell.

Please ask questions and don’t always assume that a drug is the answer.  Remember, it may “cure”one thing but complications of the drug are just around the corner.  And where does it end?

Consumers like you and I can take a stand to stop this nonsense.

Menopause Support – Foods that benefit your health

I get asked all the time which foods should be organic.  If you want the easy rule of thumb, anything with a thick skin that you are peeling does not have to be organic.

However, if you want the exact fruits and vegetables here is a link to the dirty dozen.

Are Your Cosmetics Toxic?

Menopausal Relief: Reduce chemical exposure

This is not the first time that I have brought it to your attention that chemicals in our environment are major hormone disruptor’s especially for menopausal women.

I can across this really cool website. It is from the Environmental Working Group which also does the dirty dozen website.

Basically, you can put into the database all of your cosmetics, shampoos, conditioners, hair care products and it will rate how toxic it is.

I am telling you, it is a neat site. My expensive shampoo was highly toxic. Perhaps this is why my scalp is breaking out, so I am moving to something that is more natural.
